I have had a color crush on blue velvet for quite some time. I really love how cozy and inviting it looks and what a statement it makes.

Bold is beautiful, but can be a bit tricky to incorporate. Here is my storyboard design for a blue velvet living room:
The sofa was the inspiration piece for this space. I went with a modern, slightly feminine look to lighten it up- the key here is balance. The lines on the rug help ground the space and the lucite coffee table lets the sofa take the stage. The leather slipper chair and cheetah pillows balance out the pops of pink. The modern abstract art follows the modern lines of the sofa, yet creates an inviting atmosphere with it's soft lines and strokes.

What do you think? Are you bold enough to go with a blue velvet sofa? I'm very tempted myself.
